Zhang Guangyu, male, born in 1945, earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Literature from the Department of Chinese Literature, National Taiwan University (1965), Master of Arts in Chinese Literature from the Graduate Institute of Chinese Literature, National Taiwan University (1969), and Doctor of Philosophy in Chinese Literature from the same institute (1974). He has taught at the Department of Chinese Literature, National Taiwan University; the Department of Far Eastern History, Australian National University; and the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. , holding positions as Honorary Professor at the School of Chinese, The University of Hong Kong, and the Department of Chinese, The Education University of Hong Kong; He currently serves as Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Chinese at Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, concurrently holding positions as Honorary Professor at the School of Chinese, The University of Hong Kong, and the Department of Chinese, The Education University of Hong Kong; Chair Professor at the School of History, Beijing Normal University; Visiting Professor at the Institute of Chinese Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong; and was appointed Honorary Professor at Tsinghua University in 2021. His primary research fields are Pre-Qin Ritual Studies, Paleography, Authentication of Shang-Zhou Bronze Inscriptions, and Ancient Texts (including excavated bamboo and silk manuscripts).
