Liu Shaogang, also known as Shaogang (少刚), male, born in 1958 in Jinan, Shandong Province, earned his Bachelor of History from the Department of History, Shandong University (February 1978 – February 1982) and Master of Arts in Chinese Linguistics and Philology from Shandong University (August 1986 – August 1989) under the supervision of Professor Jiang Weisong. He formerly served as Research Fellow (Grade II) at the Ancient Documents Research Department, China Academy of Cultural Heritage; Director of the Ancient Documents Research Department; and Editorial Board Member of Excavated Documents. He concurrently held positions as Adjunct Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of History and Culture, Shandong University, Professor at the Training Center of the China Calligraphers Association, and Researcher at the Chinese Academy of Arts · Chinese Seal Engraving Art Institute. Since September 2020, he has been a Researcher at the Research and Conservation Center for Unearthed Texts, Tsinghua University; and Editor-in-Chief of Excavated Documents Research . His primary research focuses on the collation and research of unearthed bamboo slips and silk manuscripts and research on the history of calligraphic arts.
