Academic profile
Wei Dong, male, born in 1987 in Nanyang, Henan Province, earned his Master of History in Chinese Ancient History (Pre-Qin and Qin-Han Periods) under the supervision of Professor Luo Yunhuan at Wuhan University (August 2011 – June 2013) and Doctor of Philosophy in Historical Philology (Excavated Texts) under the guidance of Professor Li Xueqin at Tsinghua University (August 2013 – June 2017). He conducted postdoctoral research in the Postdoctoral Program in Chinese Language and Literature at Tsinghua University (July 2017 – July 2019) with Professor Liu Guozhong as his mentor. He joined the Research and Conservation Center for Unearthed Texts, Tsinghua University in July 2019, holding positions as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. He is currently Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor at the Center. His research focuses on the conservation, collation, and research of bamboo and wooden slips and other unearthed cultural relics, related Pre-Qin history and geographical studies, and the development of cultural relics conservation laboratories. He is responsible for the conservation research of the Tsinghua Bamboo Manuscripts and the development of the cultural relics conservation laboratory at the Center.
