Academic profile
Yan Zhibin, male, born in 1975 in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, received his Bachelor of Archaeology (1997) and Master of Historical Documentation (2000) from the Department of Archaeology, Jilin University, and Doctor of Archaeology and Museology (2006) from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He joined the Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2000, holding successive positions as Research Assistant, Assistant Research Fellow, Associate Research Fellow, Research Fellow, Deputy Director of the Xia-Shang-Zhou Archaeology Research Office, Professor at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Ph.D. Supervisor, and Field Director of Archaeological Excavations. In 2023, he transferred to Tsinghua University and is currently Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the Research and Conservation Center for Unearthed Texts, Tsinghua University. His primary research focuses on Paleography and Shang-Zhou Archaeology.
